چکیده
Abstract Waste cooking oil (WCO) is a promising feedstock for producing biodiesel, which plays significant role in waste resource reusing and renewable energy production. It known that cost the main factor restricting large-scale production of biodiesel. Therefore, Life Cycle Cost (LCC) method was used to analyze economic feasibility biodiesel process from WCO. Our results show 1 ?t WCO 6291.56 RMB, 65.28% higher than diesel. The factors influencing further analyzed. Although has low commercial price, necessary pretreatment inevitable creates additional processing cost, since cannot be directly transesterification produce relatively high, accounting 15.60% total cost. Special management policy should implemented recycling technology advanced, order make more economically competitive. Aspen Plus software simulate WCO, simulated by two-step method. practicability simulation confirmed purity reaching 99.6 ?wt%. In simulation, parameters methanol rectification tower were optimized provide reliable benchmark industrial

Techno-Economic Evaluation of Biodiesel Production from Waste Cooking Oil—A Case Study of Hong Kong
Fossil fuel shortage is a major challenge worldwide. Therefore, research is currently underway to investigate potential renewable energy sources. Biodiesel is one of the major renewable energy sources that can be obtained from oils and fats by transesterification. However, biodiesel obtained from vegetable oils as feedstock is expensive. Thus, an alternative and inexpensive feedstock such as wa...
متن کاملEnzymatic Alholysis For Biodiesel Production From Waste Cooking Oil
Huge efforts have been carried out in recent years in order to develop an alternative fuel from renewable resources, such as biodiesel fuel. Therefore, the use of cooking oil as raw material is a very interesting alternative for the production of biodiesel. In this work, waste frying oil was used as raw material for enzymatic biodiesel production. Moreover, this study analyzes the influence of ...
متن کاملBiodiesel production from waste cooking oil: 2. Economic assessment and sensitivity analysis.
The economic feasibilities of four continuous processes to produce biodiesel, including both alkali- and acid-catalyzed processes, using waste cooking oil and the 'standard' process using virgin vegetable oil as the raw material, were assessed. Although the alkali-catalyzed process using virgin vegetable oil had the lowest fixed capital cost, the acid-catalyzed process using waste cooking oil w...

Production of biodiesel was involved transesterification process that implicated the reaction between used cooking oil and methanol with aid of KOH. The reaction was carried out at 15 min, 30 min, 60 min, 90 min, and 120 min to evaluate the effect of reaction time on the yield of fatty acid methyl ester (FAME). The highest yield of FAME was obtained at reaction time 60 min. Besides that, the yi...
